3-Year Consecutive Donor Value Detail
The donor-level companion to the consecutive-giving summary: each three-year-streak donor named, with their fourth-year disposition, multi-year and lifetime giving.
How to use the 3-Year Consecutive Donor Value Detail
This analysis gives you the donor-by-donor detail behind your three-year consecutive givers. For every donor who maintained a giving streak across three fiscal years, it shows whether they were retained or lapsed in the fourth year and attaches the giving and relationship context you need to act on each name. It draws on your gift history and segment thresholds to classify each donor by the segment they held in the third year.
For each donor you see their fourth-year disposition, labeled Retained or Lapsed, alongside their fourth-year gift amount, their total giving across the four-year window, and their total and net lifetime giving. Supporting fields such as constituency, assigned fundraiser, and recent pledge-payment activity round out the picture. Having disposition sit next to lifetime value is what makes this actionable, because a lapsed donor with high lifetime giving is a very different priority than a lapsed donor with little history.
The strategic value is that it converts a retention statistic into a working list. When the summary view shows a segment slipping, this detail tells you exactly which loyal, high-value donors are the ones drifting away, so outreach can be personal and prioritized rather than broad.
You should run this after the fiscal year closes and route it to the gift officers and annual giving staff who own these relationships. Prioritize the lapsed donors with the highest lifetime and four-year giving for immediate, personal re-engagement, and steward the retained high-value donors so their streak continues. Filter by assigned fundraiser so each officer can work their own list.
Measure success by how many high-value lapsed streak donors you re-engage, and by improved fourth-year retention of your most valuable consecutive givers over time.

Description: This analysis identifies individual donors who have maintained a consecutive giving streak over three years and evaluates their retention status in the fourth year. By categorizing these donors based on their giving segment in the third year, you gain valuable insights into donor loyalty and engagement. The retention classification, denoted as "Retained" or "Lapsed," offers actionable insights into which donor segments are engaging effectively with your organization and which may require additional attention or strategies to improve retention. By assessing donor loyalty, you can tailor your communication and outreach efforts to enhance relationships with high-value donors while identifying opportunities to re-engage lapsed donors.
Key Question: Are we successfully converting habitual donors (3-year streak) into permanent supporters (4th year), and what is the financial impact when we fail?
Action: Create two distinct communication workflows: one for those who stayed ("Retained") and one for those who left ("Lapsed").
